Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and greet your guide, who will assist you with your full-day Cultural and Robben Island Tour. Depart on the ferry to Robben Island and enjoy lunch at Karibu Restaurant. Then take a tour of Cape Town, visiting the District Six Museum and District Six area briefly, where the apartheid regime forced more than 60,000 citizens to leave, as well as the old slave quarter, the Bokaap. DAY 8, October 31, 2020 | Cape Town
Cape Town

After a hotel breakfast, begin a full-day tour of Cape Point. Flank the cold Atlantic Ocean on the way to Hout Bay. Once a fishing community and now one of the most popular residential areas, the harbor still has a charm of days gone by. Travel onwards to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope. Said to be the romantic meeting place of the mighty Atlantic and Indian oceans, Sir Francis Drake the Explorer once called it "the fairest Cape that we saw in the whole circumference of the Globe.” Continue alongside the Indian Ocean and stop for a fun, interactive meal. Commence the Foraging Experience and the Wild Flavored Pop-up Meal. Roushanna Gray created and will curate his interactive 5 course meal experience, which focuses on fresh seasonal ingredients and locally produced foodstuffs. Vegetables and hebs will be picked and prepared on site that day from the Good Hope Gardens vegetable gardens. Wild herbs from the mountainside, seaweeds from the nearby coastline, edible flowers, and local artisan products will be included in the meal. Afterwards, visit the penguins at Boulders beach and then stop by the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, home to some 3,500 species of Southern African flora and fauna. Enjoy dinner at the Belthazar Restaurant before returning to the hotel.

Next, head north to the Cape Winelands and then to Franschhoek, with a photo stop at the Groot Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in February 1990. Nestled amongst the mountains, the village of Franschhoek can easily be mistaken as being in Switzerland. In the afternoon, there will be a wine tasting and lunch at Vrede and Lust wine farm. Continue to the Avondale Wine Estate in Paarl. Their two-hour Eco Wine Safari of the estate is the best way to go deeply into biodynamic farming techniques in a short time. The Eco Tour is a curated wine tasting in the vineyard blocks around the estate and a tour in the gravity flow cellar constructed three stories underground. The journey concludes with a return to the Tasting Gallery where you can relax and enjoy the view or browse the latest artworks on exhibition.
