TRIP DETAILS
TRIP LEADER(S)
Matt Goddard

Matt Goddard didn’t get his first passport until his mid-30’s but ever since he’s been doing his best to make up for lost time. Over the past decade Matt has visited more than a dozen countries across four continents, many more than once. He’s also driven on the left side of the road for more than a thousand miles without incident (so far).

The favorite part of international travel for Matt is seeing firsthand the culture and history of other countries. Sometimes he sees history being made such as when he visited Hong Kong during the 2014 democracy protests or just last year when he saw the start of the Yellow Vest protests in France. Depending on the location, learning the local history can be uplifting and inspirational or it can be sad and horrifying. It is that difference that inspires Matt in his work at People to People International to strive for a future that is the former instead of the latter.

Matt joined People to People International as Senior Vice President in September 2018. Prior to that Matt served in Kansas state government, first as Special Assistant to the Governor and then as Chief of Staff at the Department of Commerce.

Matt previously worked at a trade association for financial services firms. He is a graduate of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.

Matt lives in Topeka with his wife, Jennifer, and their adorable puggle.
