Barbara Capozzi

The organization has afforded our family opportunities and experiences we could never have imagined. We consider the friends we've met around the world our People to People family! We continue to bring people together by hosting international visitors in our home near Buffalo/Niagara Falls to help promote the mission.

I have been involved with People to People International since 1991 and am excited about my role as a member of the Board of Directors. I also serve as secretary of the Buffalo, NY Chapter. I was chapter president since its inception, but it is now being run by my former students.

I have been a leader at PTPI's Peace Camps in Egypt (2003, 2005, 2007), Jordan (2009) and Turkey (2011) where students from around the world lived and worked together while learning about other countries, religions, ethnic backgrounds, educational systems and cultures. I was also a leader at all of PTPI's Global Youth Forums (GYF) which began in 2002, as well as PTPI's youth conferences 1995 - 1998.

I volunteer for our travel partner People to People Student Travel Programs - Enriching Cultural Experiences (ECE) where I recruit and train volunteers for the travel program.

I have traveled to over 60 countries and led student delegations to China, South Africa, Japan, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal and almost all countries in Eastern & Western Europe. I have also led PTPI adult delegations to Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania (2012), Cuba (2013 & 2015), Israel, Palestine & Jordan in 2014.
