PTPI partners with Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund on Delegation to Vietnam and Cambodia
People to People International (PTPI) recently partnered with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) to send a delegation to Vietnam and Cambodia, geared toward reconciliation and cultural understanding. The delegation will take place from Thursday, September 19 to Tuesday, October 1, 2019.
“It is fitting that an organization founded by President Eisenhower after his experiences during war would partner with an organization dedicated to the remembrance of veterans to provide an opportunity to further cultural understanding for both cultures,” said CEO of PTPI Merrill Eisenhower Atwater. “People to People International strives to bring peace through understanding to cultures and people around the world.”
“We are pleased to to offer this opportunity to Vietnam veterans and their family members. Those who visit the Vietnam Veterans Memorial consider it a part of their healing process. Taking a trip to Vietnam and seeing what the country is like today could be another step in that process,” said Jim Knotts, president and CEO of VVMF.”
This year’s delegation will offer a chance to visit some of the most historic sights in Vietnam and Cambodia, including Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap. This trip will include opportunities to visit with residents of communities in both nations. Traveling with People to People International is unlike any other experience, with opportunities to truly immerse travelers in the culture of the nation in which they visit. The partnership with the VVMF adds a level of understanding and commitment to reconciliation that cannot be found in other travel opportunities to these nations.
